Deutsche Bahn Connect and Choice expand Flinkster's carsharing fleet with 850 vehicles from Mazda
Nuremberg, 07.08.2018 | Flinkster, Germany's largest provider of stationary car sharing, is expanding its bookable fleet nationwide by 850 vehicles of the Mazda brand. This is made possible by the cooperation between Deutsche Bahn Connect and the mobility service provider Choice, which, in cooperation with Mazda, inte-grates the vehicles into the Flinkster network. For this purpose, the IT booking systems of Deutsche Bahn Connect and Choice have been connected. In the coming months and years, more carsharing vehicles will be added to the shared network.
The 850 Mazda vehicles can be booked through two separate sales channels: Customers of the Flinkster Network have access to the additional Mazda vehicles via the Flinkster app and can book the cars as usual. In addition, Mazda is enter-ing the national carsharing market through this collaboration and grants cus-tomers access to the 850 Mazda vehicles via their own Mazda Carsharing app, provided by the mobility service provider Choice.
Choice cooperates with various location partners to ensure that the 850 addi-tional vehicles are available in central locations. One of these location partners is the discounter company Lidl, which provides customer parking spaces at 50 loca-tions in North Rhine Westphalia exclusively for the carsharing vehicles. Starting in the beginning of September 2018, new carsharing stations in-clude customer parking spaces of Lidl branches in Duisburg, Mühlheim, Cologne and Bonn, among others.
“Carsharing systems are in most cases limited to major German cities. Together with Deutsche Bahn Connect, our strategy is to enable this sustainable mobility trend nationwide. By making the Mazda vehicles available through the Flinkster service as well as through Mazda Carsharing in cooperation with central loca-tion partners, we ensure utilization of the vehicles through various distribution channels”, says Choice CEO Jürgen Lobach.
